About

Carri Mikkelsen

Carri Mikkelsen brings depth, empathy, and gospel clarity to everything she does — whether she's counseling one-on-one, discipling believers, or writing words that speak truth with grace. She is the editor of Leading Grace, the magazine of the Free Grace Alliance, and her passion is helping women embrace grace and live securely in their identity in Christ.

A native of the Pacific Northwest, Carri believed in Jesus at the age of five, but spent years afraid she hadn't done enough to earn God's approval. At Ethnos360 Bible Institute she dug deep into the Scriptures and learned that it is faith in Christ's finished work alone that saves — not His work plus hers. She has been resting in that grace ever since.

Carri holds a B.S. in Cultural Anthropology from Oregon State University (magna cum laude, minor in English) and a Master of Biblical Counseling from Calvary University (highest honors). She and her husband, Jeremy, served as missionaries in a closed country with Wycliffe Associates, where they raised their three young children in a cross-cultural missions context. Back home she served for many years at Northwest Hills Community Church — as a women's Bible study leader, Sunday school curriculum planner, and one of the founders of its HOME ministry — and then for five years at Lacey Bible Church as a pastor's wife, biblical counselor, and teacher.

Carri has written children's discipleship devotionals for Awana's Talk About at-home resource and served as online editor for the Free Grace Alliance before becoming editor of Leading Grace. She is also co-owner and operator of Chehalis River Farm & Garden. Carri and Jeremy have been married more than twenty years and have three teenagers; together they love cycling and gardening.
